The Newland-Port Elliot Uniting Church
worships on Sundays at 10 am

in the Newland Memorial Church at the roundabout on 28 Victoria Street, Victor Harbor.

Our services are classic but not conservative, with hymns and songs played by the pipe organ or grand piano, and friendly rather than formal.
Visitors are welcome to services and morning tea afterwards.

There is a ramp at the rear door for those who wish to avoid steps.
There is space inside for mobility aids such as a wheelchair or walker.
Parking at the rear of the church has easy access to the ramp.
Enter Wills St from the Esplanade along the seafront then into the church grounds.

NEXT LIVE ARTS at NEWLAND
Sunday 19th April  2.00 pm      The Keys to Newland

This variety afternoon will be presented by Melbourne-based theatre organist and keyboard specialist Mr Leith Ewert. Leith is coming to join forces with our own Trevor Fletcher. Between them they will use the wonderful instruments we have here – the grand piano and the (recently upgraded) pipe organ – AND then add to them, the amazing versatility of the modern digital keyboard. Prepare for a rousing afternoon of keyboard magic ranging from the soft and simple to big and bold. From solo instruments to Big Bands and full orchestras!

WHY UNITING?

We are enthusiastic about the Uniting Church and the Basis of Union which brought together the Methodist, Presbyterian and Congregational Churches back in 1977, and we believe we are called to work together with others in uniting the Christian Church today.
The song “they will know we are Christians by our love” is as true today as when it was written.
Bringing together Port Elliot Uniting Church and Newland Memorial Uniting Church in Victor Harbor is only the first step in preparing ourselves for the future.

OTHER WAYS OF BEING CHURCH

We look for new ways to provide worship and other spiritual experiences for ourselves ,
and those in our community.

Reflections on Thursday mornings from 10 am -11 am gives a quiet time to reconsider life while the organ or piano is played –

Following Reflections at 11 am we meet in the hall for tea, coffee and cake.

And of course lots of chatting with new and old friends.

Visitors and tourists are welcome to share in this ecumenical time.
Come when you can, and leave when you need.

If you cannot arrive in time for the music, come for the coffee and cake.

We occasionally offer mid week services, such as Ash Wednesday or All Saints Day, and we are open to other styles of worship such as in the style of Taize or Iona.

STUDY AND PRAYER GROUPS

Occasionally throughout the year we meet to learn, share and pray together.
Our faith connects with life outside of Church,
and the issues raised enable growth and better understanding.
